In April 2024, the global skydiving community converged in Macau for an exhilarating double-header event—the World Cup of Indoor Skydiving and the European Championship 2024.

The competition brought together the best body flyers from the world, showcasing their skills in a dynamic, high-speed event that tested precision, teamwork, and creativity.

Among the standout athletes were Germany’s stars Timmy Dittrich and Christian Kaufmann competing in the Dynamic 2 Way category. The duo also combined with Johannes Heptner and Diana Parmanina, competed in the Dynamic 4 Way category. Also belonging to the German team was Roland Carl, who partnered with Diana to also compete in the Dynamic 2 Way.

A Display of Grit in Dynamic 2-Way

Macau drew an impressive number of participants for the Dynamic category, assembling 22 teams to take on the challenge. This elevated the competition’s difficulty and raised the overall level of the championship.

Among those athletes, the World Cup also saw Timmy Dittrich and Christian Kaufmann competing in the Dynamic 2-Way category, where their resilience truly shone through. During the first round of his free routine, Timmy suffered a severe injury, breaking a small bone on his foot. Despite the intense pain and the physical challenge, Timmy continued to compete, determined not to let his injury define his performance.

His remarkable perseverance paid off as he and his teammate fought through the rounds, ultimately securing an impressive fourth-place finish on the world stage. Even more impressively, Timmy clinched the first position in the European Championship for the Dynamic 2-Way category, solidifying his reputation as a fearless competitor.

World Cup of Indoor Skydiving:
A Team Triumph

Contrary to the Dynamic 2 Way, the 4 Way category didn’t attract as many participants. Only 5 teams took part in the challenge, making it a valid number for the World Cup, but not enough to validate a European Championship.

Belonging to the German National team, Timmy, Christian, Diana and Johannes, had an impressive performance, even after losing a round due to Timmy’s injury in the D2W round. The team demonstrated exceptional skill and coordination, earning them an impressive third-place finish.

This podium placement was a significant achievement, reflecting the team’s dedication.

A Promising Future

Timmy Dittrich’s success in Macau is a testament to his hard work, talent, and the support of the German Skydiving Federation. His third-place finish in the Dynamic 4-Way at the World Cup, his heroic fourth-place finish in the Dynamic 2-Way despite a broken foot, and his gold medal at the European Championship highlight his versatility, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.

As Timmy continues to make waves in the skydiving world, his achievements in Macau inspire many athletes and draw the attention of sponsors and fans alike.

With his eyes set on future competitions, including the 2025 World Championship, Timmy’s journey is one to watch, as he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the thrilling world of indoor and outdoor skydiving.
